There is an old saying, “Show me your friends and I will show you your future”. President Obama has partnered up with the hippies and weirdoes of the 60’s. The disciples of Sol Alinsky and Ezra Pound who wanted to change America with love, communes and marijuana. Now the same group has again come on the scene preaching for a world government and democratic socialism.

President Clinton was re-elected to a second term by moving to the middle.

It’s too late for Obama to move anywhere because of the bills passed by his congress which he signed. Bills the American people were against, such as healthcare and the pending cap and trade bill. Mr. Obama’s cabinet is so narcissistic they give vanity a bad name.

President Obama has been visiting America’s schools and speaking to students. We applaud Mr. Obama for this, his talks are not political and he stresses staying in school and being the best you can be.

Fidel Castro admitted last week on national television that his policies are not working out for the Cuban people. Former president Castro’s remarks were fifty years too late.

A remarkable archeological find was discovered recently in California. This organism of a past geological age was found to be former governor Jerry Brown. The democrats are again running Mr. Brown for governor of California. How desperate can they be?

What about the victory mosque located at ground zero? I deem the building of the mosque would be like the Japanese building a Shinto Shrine across the harbor from the battleship Arizona with the statue of a torpedo plane with Kamikaze pilots standing on the wings drinking sake and screaming “banzai”.

 “Some people are fighting the stimulus but it worked here.” It’s worked in all my counties.” “I hope Stewart County is ready for the growth this road is going to bring.” “We’ve got a good road… the jobs will be here.” These are direct quotes from Rep. Butch Borchert as recorded in the Stewart Houston Times a few weeks ago. Well “hopefully “this will make highway 79 a little safer and everybody certainly “hopes” that these roads are soon used by workers driving to their new found places of employment .  But, “hope” is not a strategy for improving the economy and good roads alone will not bring jobs to this district. Does Rep. Borchert actually think that the $787 Billion in federal stimulus dollars borrowed from China and charged to our children is a good deal for the taxpayers and the overall economy just because our district had some projects paid for by the stimulus in an election year? If he is such an effective legislator than why wasn’t he able to secure adequate funding through normal channels during his three terms in office? If it has “worked here” as he says then why are the unemployment rates in all three counties higher than the state average? If it has worked here then why are the unemployment rates in all three counties higher now than they were in Nov of 2008? According to the Tennessee Department of Labor statistics the unemployment rate for the month of July (latest available) statewide was 9.8% but it was 13.9% in Benton, 11.3 in Henry, and 10.3 in Stewart county. In Nov of 2008 the rates were 9.9%, 9.6% and 8.0% respectively.  Does that sound like a plan that is working?

For a long time I have been deeply concerned by our government’s willingness to give away our sovereignty to organizations such as the United Nations.  I hope all of us realize that these global bureaucracies rarely, if ever, have America’s best interests in mind.

The Obama Administration and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have been working with the UN on an international treaty to control firearms being sold across international borders.  In order to do this, there must be an enforcement agency.  President Obama’s Executive Order granting the international police organization (INTERPOL) immunity to operate in America beyond the confines of US laws and Constitution, and without oversight by any American Law enforcement agency should be of great concern to all of us.  The action to give INTERPOL immunity from the U.S. Constitution (in this case the Second Amendment) is directly related to establishing the groundwork for an enforcement mechanism for such an international gun control treaty.  Using domestic law enforcement agencies, such as the FBI, and even local agencies, would present problems because these agencies could be challenged under the Second Amendment.  INTERPOL having immunity would get around that “problem.”  Again, the government is stamping on our Second Amendment rights.  If they can’t get gun control one way, they will try another way!!

Some of us may think as citizens we should not be concerned with foreign policy or arms control initiatives—except to the extent they would directly or indirectly affect Second Amendment rights.  For many years, the National Rifle Association (NRA) has been monitoring and actively fighting any credible attempts on the part of the UN to restrict our sovereignty and gun rights.  Agendas for the elimination of private ownership of firearms are disguised as calls for international arms control to stem the flow of illicit military weapons.  As a recognized Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), the NRA gives gun owners a strong voice in the UN’s debate over global “gun control.”  The NRA has access to UN meetings that are closed to the general public, and is able to distribute informational materials to participants in UN activities.  The NRA will not hesitate to use the political and other resources available to them to resist any international agreement that could in any way affect our Second Amendment rights.  All law abiding citizens should support the NRA by joining their organization or giving donations.

I understand another issue on gun control will be presented to us on November 2.  On the ballot will be an amendment to the Tennessee Constitution allowing for Tennesseans to hunt and fish.  “What?”  you might say.  We have been hunting and fishing as long as we can remember.  However, apparently it is not a guaranteed right.  With the amendment, it will make it much more difficult for anti hunting and fishing groups, such as PETA, to challenge our rights.  These anti-gun, anti-hunt, anti-fish “crazies” are forcing us to have an amendment to enforce the rights we already have!!  This is crazy!!

It is my understanding in the last election for a Tennessee governor, 1,900,000 votes were cast.  In order to pass this amendment, fifty (50%) plus one votes must be cast as a YES vote to pass.  So if you are not registered to vote, get out there and get registered and explain to others what this amendment is and to vote YES to keep our right to hunt and fish.  This madness will never stop if we are not paying attention!!

Norman Mattoon Thomas (1864-1968) ran for president of the U. S. on the socialist party ticket six times (1924-1948). That is an established fact. He has been quoted as saying the following; “It is no longer necessary for me to run for president on the Socialist party ticket because the Democrat party has adopted our platform. Americans will never accept Socialism as such but under the guise of liberalism, they will.” Snopes labels that as “probably false” which means they can’t prove he did not say it. Given his bent toward that kind of thinking I would say it very likely he did. Consider that he came into prominence during the time of Woodrow Wilson’s presidency and  studied at Princeton Univ. which strengthens that probability.

He also studied for the ministry which gives us a preacher with strong socialistic leanings. This brings me to one of the points of this writing. At a political gathering in Paris recently I heard another politician who is also an ordained minister speak. However, the things I heard him say were very troubling. He was preaching his own brand of “Christian Socialism” The heartbeat of socialism is the theme of redistribution of wealth. This is being espoused as the “good Christian” thing to do, that we are obligated to take care of the less fortunate. This is a basic tenant of Christianity. However, there are mandates in the Bible also that those who are able must provide for themselves. This is in direct opposition to the “nanny state” mindset of modern liberal/socialist thinking.

When this same local politician was asked by one of two former career military men in attendance that day, about the issue of gays in the military his answer was “I would let the military deal with that.” Who appoints the Secretary of Defense? The PRESIDENT does! We have a PRESIDENT and a SECRETARY OF DEFENSE with NO military experience. Who appoints high ranking officers to their posts? Congress does! Who writes the laws that the military must obey? Congress does!  If elected this man would be ONE more liberal congressman whose first vote would be for Nancy Pelosi and at the first opportunity would stand with those who advocate the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell”, doing untold damage to the remaining integrity of our armed forces.

This is straight out of the communist manifesto on how to destroy the family unit and the effectiveness of the military at the same time. The new Commandant of the United Sates Marines understands that and has spoken publicly against the repeal of “don’t ask, don’t tell”, which was Bill Clinton’s creation. Career military men have understood the dangers of this pervasive lifestyle to a fighting army for all of history. We have now come to the point where career politicians and some who would be, are willing to sacrifice the effectiveness of our military forces for the sake of gaining blocks of votes. And this at a time when we have already been attacked on our own shores and the threat of global terrorism causes alert levels to rise around the world even as I write this.

These same liberal/progressive/socialist politicians are the ones who bow and kiss up to leaders of the same nations from whence came attackers of 9-11, Fort Hood, our embassies, our ships, our allies and other country’s and their people ALL over the world.

In conjunction with that remember the words, “CREEPING SHARIA LAW!” there is much evidence (this to be addressed later) that “creeping sharia law” and socialism work hand in hand. Remember that when you vote on Nov. 2^nd.

I did not know how well David Clendenin had it nailed when he said, “If they are in, vote ‘em out!” In this the 75^thDistrict of Tn. And the 8^thCongressional Dist. This holds true for THIS election cycle.
